Pilates

SWE Pittsburgh members enjoyed investing in themselves with Pilates and friendship on June 4th. Special thanks to our SWE Member Jay for teaching us the history of Pilates, ensuring we have have proper form and leading us through an hour Pilates session at Pittsburgh Fitness Project.

​WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL BRAND?
​

In early April, 15+ University of Pittsburgh and Professional Section members learned great tools on how to build their personal brand. Using the "PIE" method, professionals were able to share their experiences and also learn new tricks to understand others perceptions and create an action plan to continue or improve upon their personal brand. ​

​WE Local - Pittsburgh

​Pittsburgh hosted the inaugural WE Local conference February 17-19, with 518 conference attendees, the weekend-long conference brought together professional, collegiate, and even high school SWENexters for an opportunity to tour local companies, attend seminars, hear inspiring keynote speakers, and network with other SWE members. Thank you to everyone who attended, and to everyone who volunteered, presented, and sponsored the conference, we couldn’t have done it without your help!

SWE AT THE PITTSBURGH GLASS CENTER

SWE got creative at the Pittsburgh Glass Center!
In December we had the opportunity to learn about glass blowing, make a holiday ornaments and tour the Pittsburgh Glass Center… we had a great time!! After learning the art of glass making and the delicacy that’s needed to use the 2200 degree Fahrenheit ovens, tools, and your own hot air, attendees had the opportunity to make their own piece of art before the holidays. Of course, we also had food, fun and networking. Our next SWE event will be in March, and we hope to see you (and your fellow engineering friends) there!
