Who can join SWE?

Everyone is welcome to join SWE as a member! Our programs are focused on those who want to be in a woman-oriented space, and we welcome individuals who identify as non-binary or gender expansive who are comfortable in such an environment.

Collegiate Liaison

Bridge the gap between the section and collegiate sections in the area.
Assist collegiate sections with submitting required section documents (Financial Report, Leadership Roster, Section Agreement, etc).
Plan annual Leadership Summit to connect all SWE leaders in the area.

Fundraising Chair

Leads fundraising efforts in support of outreach, certificate of merit, professional development day and other SWE supported activities.

Public Policy Chair

Advocate for SWE Public Policy initiatives and engage SWE Pittsburgh members via website, newsletter articles, and/or social media posts. For example, this could be accomplished by staying informed on Pennsylvania state initiatives related to STEM or supporting women in the workplace (e.g., parental leave policies) and then sharing key information with members.
Connect with other SWE sections for best practice sharing.
Participate in SWE Public Policy Affinity Group.
Attend SWE congressional days (if/when feasible, not required).
